Mono

Monofilament fishing line (or simply 'mono') is a popular line choice in Australia due to its ability to stretch, convenience of usage, colour range, knot strength, abrasion resistance and shock rate. Mono is designed for large game fish and is suited in both freshwater and saltwater, making it an excellent choice for any fishing experience, while monofilament line is not as sensitive as braid line, it is less likely to rip the hooks out of a fish due to its stretch capacity.
