Shimano Ocea Switchbait Rod 5080S

Switch-baiting billfish of whatever species is a fabulous way to catch them, as the take is right at the back of the boat in plain sight of everyone on board. Now while a conventional game rod will do the job okay, one that is made specifically for the job is so much better.

The blanks are rolled with TC-4 graphite, the same material as used in the revolutionary Terez series, and componentry includes ALPS light game reel seats, Fuji K series SiC guides, lightweight carbon Slick Butts, and custom shaped EVA fighting grips.

While intended as switch baiting rods, the Oceas are equally at home trolling for tuna, kings and other bluewater ruffians.

The Ocea Switch Bait series has been something of a pet project for the Australian Rod Builder, Ian Miller, and it shows in the design of these impressive stand-up rods.
