The Shinto Pro Mutsu Light Circle is a light gauge circle hook built around live bait. The lighter wire lets a live offering swim and struggle naturally rather than being weighed down, while the pattern still carries the strength to stop a solid fish once it commits.
Like all circle hooks, it is designed to slide rather than be struck. As the fish turns away the hook rolls to the corner of the jaw and sets itself, which means far fewer deeply hooked or gut-hooked fish and a much cleaner release. Shinto sharpen the point to a razor needle profile so that penetration happens fast and with very little pressure, and the unique offset (Kirbed) point sits proud of the shank for greater exposure and better contact as the hook comes around.
Finished in a strong nickel plating for corrosion resistance, the range runs from a fine #6 through to a heavy 8/0. The smaller sizes suit bait fishing for species and styles including, but not limited to, bream, whiting, flathead and estuary work, while the larger sizes step up to snapper, mulloway, reef fish and live baiting offshore.
