Mustad Hapuka Deep Drop Pre Made Rig

This is a genuine heavyweight bait fishing rig, with lines up to 400lb and hooks up to 16/0 size, and two equal-sized Mustad 39965D circular hooks. The Hapuka Rig hunts in far-offshore waters, just like the fish it is named for.

Since traditional hooks allow the fish to actually float off the hook, circle hooks are preferred because they stay in the fish on the long journey to the top, even if the fish blows its bladder. The two circle hooks are fixed to dropper loops and given an attractor boost by bright vinyl tubing. The 39965D circles have a kirbed offset.
