ultra-eclipse-neo-life-jacket-pfd-red-l50
Ultra Eclipse Neo Life Jacket PFD Red L50

Description

The Ultra Eclipse is an entry-level neoprene buoyancy vest certified to AS 4758.1 Level 50, cut in the watersports style and built to be comfortable enough to wear all day. Soft foam, flatlock seams and a self-draining liner keep it wearable when it is wet, and a gusseted multi-fit design with two heavy-duty 38mm adjustable belts lets it fit a wide range of body shapes securely. Internal reinforcing adds durability where the vest works hardest. Ultra recommend the Level 50 version for personal watercraft use.

It is worth understanding what a Level 50 rating means before you buy. Level 50 is a buoyancy aid, not a lifejacket in the full sense: it is designed for people who can swim and who are close to the bank or shore or have help nearby, and it is approved for sheltered and smooth or partially smooth waters. It will return you to the surface but it is not designed to turn an unconscious wearer face up, and it has no head or neck support - that is what Level 100 and Level 150 jackets do. Level 50 garments are made in high-visibility colours so you are easier to spot in the water, which is why this one is red. Carriage and wear requirements differ from state to state, so check the rules with your own state maritime authority.

Care is simple: wash it in warm soapy water after use and dry it thoroughly, then store it somewhere dry and ventilated, out of direct sunlight and away from chemicals. Check it over regularly - sunshine, chlorine and weathering can fade the colour, and fading can indicate lost strength, so have it checked or stop using it if it has faded. Never attempt to repair a PFD yourself.

Features

Certified to AS 4758.1, Level 50

Neoprene vest with soft foam for all-day comfort

Two heavy-duty 38mm adjustable belts

Gusseted multi-fit design to suit a wide range of body shapes

Internal reinforcing

Flatlock seams

Self-draining liner

High-visibility red

Available in adult sizes Small through XXL and in Junior 4-6, 8-10 and 12-14

Ultra recommend the Level 50 version for personal watercraft (jetski) use

Specifications

Weight categories below are taken from Ultra's own PFD size chart.
